Cristy & Alex’s Wedding

One of the best things about hosting weddings at my family’s farm is all the great people that we get to meet.  This was most definitely the case with Cristy & Alex and their beautiful families.  The day of their wedding, February 16th,, turned out to be one of those magical Miami days!  You know, the ones that make us remember why we endure the sweltering heat of June, July, and August.  It was in the 70’s throughout the day and went into the low 40’s at night, making for a lovely country winter evening.

As the bridal party was getting ready and enjoying their “bridal high tea,” the farmhouse was filled with laughter and joy.   The bridal party’s makeup was impeccably done by Dunia Rivero.  The bride and all of these beautiful ladies were “red carpet ready” once Dunia finished working her magic!  You can read Dunia’s kind words about that experience on her own blog:

We truly enjoy welcoming couples and their families, friends, and guests to our farm.  I’ve always said that I wish you could bottle up the joy one feels at weddings.  So often we get caught up in the negativity which the media and society in general bombards us with.  It is such a refreshing experience when loved ones gather together, all dressed in their finest, with one collective purpose: to wish two very special people a lifetime of happiness.

This was certainly what Cristy & Alex must have felt that evening.  As Cristy was getting into the horse drawn carriage with her father at her side, my sister, father, and I all looked at each other and smiled.  This was one of those “moments” and it was happening right in front of our eyes.  It’s not often that we are gifted with these rare glimpses while memories are being made.  As the carriage drove off and the sun was setting, the chilly evening breeze began to blow and we were warmed by the love that was felt that night.

Congratulations Cristy & Alex!
